As a girl how can I hint to a guy I like him?

There is a family friend I like him and we have been seeing each other every weekend (both Saturdays and sundays). In the past I was nervous whenever we have physical interaction that I would blush and I might have occasionally given him the wrong signal. For example this weekend our shoulders were sort of touching, I felt ticklish so I unconsciously pulled away and he quickly turned his head towards me. This other time he had my hand on top of me, after 30 secs I pulled away because it was awkward moment. When he gave me his jacket and he was shivering, I wasn't sure if it was okay to put my hands around one of his arm so that I can at least give him warmth. Like the next time he leans really close or our shoulder touch should I do anything? Especially if he does put his hand around my shoulder. I never ask him how he feels about me so I want to know how can I signal him that I like him based on our physical interactions at the same time it wouldn't ruin our friendship if it turns out he just sees me as a friend.
